277 pages @ $19.95 Want to know what can take you from calm to irritation in ballistic speed? Stop When You See Red will assist you in uncovering the burrows deep inside that have kept you from living the life you desire. This
much needed book is broken down into four
sections. The author guides you through
finding and identifying your hot buttons and how to interpret your
behavior.
This is an intimate look into relationship dynamics and how each one of
us can
determine the power of our reactions.
Ms.
Welsh defines four perceptual styles as being Audio,
Visual, Feeler, and Wholistics. She
supplies the reader through a detailed self-appraisal and personal
profile the
opportunity to find where they stand among the primary Perceptions.
After
understanding the perceptual style, she continues with Limiting
Tendencies. She identifies these as
anger, indignation, frustration and resentment. Through understanding
these
limitations and accepting the fact that you can only change you – you
can learn
how to live a more fruitful and satisfying life. I
love to “think out loud” and I found her
section on Wholistics very enlightening. I
have to say it gave me a moment of utter clarity.
This
book is principally enlightening because the author
bares her soul which is a marvelous motivator to the reader. By sharing her private life and explaining
her transformation in her forties, she gives the book a feel of
communicating
directly with her. It takes guts to come clean in your own life and
this is one
reason the book is so effective. Along
with her life experiences, she shares experiences from her workshops
and
qualitative studies. Of particular need
is the understanding of children making this a must read for every
parent. Her examination of how to be “an
encouraging
rather than discouraging parent” is excellent.
It
is so true that nothing can possibly change in your life
until you change and Ms. Welsh lays out the tools to succeed in a
transformation to help you enjoy more radiant relationships.
This
book will add a
high-quality injection of positive
power to any life. Ms. Welsh offers a
healing
brew dispensing necessary and helpful advice in a clear and easy to
understand
format giving everyone a potential to reshape their life.

possible to have a richly satisfying life within your present
circumstances." Carol Welsh, author of Stop
When You See Red According
to Carol Welsh, everyone is born with Empowering Tendencies, which lead
us to
take positive action and help us feel better about ourselves. We also
have
Limiting Tendencies, which cause us to react, often negatively, to
others and
events, and therefore leave us feeling tired or out-of-control. How
we perceive the world around us affects our responses. In Stop When You See Red, the
author
identifies and defines four perceptual styles: Audio, Visual, Feeler
and
Wholistic. A simple self-appraisal leads to great personal insight by
helping
readers identify their primary Perception, along with their current
Empowering
and Limiting Tendencies. The
author's comprehensive descriptions of each perception will help
readers
recognize others' primary perceptions, and thus enable them to improve
relationships with adults. She also advises how to adapt
teaching/disciplinary
styles for children of each perceptual style. Have
you noticed certain people or situations press your hot buttons? The
Shrinking
Comfort Zone Profile will help readers identify which work, home and
personal
health stressors steal their security and control. Once you recognize
them, if
you're willing to alter your perception and react positively, you can
your comfort zone. All you have to do is avoid the Brick Wall. Sometimes
the answers we seek are right in front of our noses, but we need
someone to
help us open our eyes. Carol Welsh's Stop
When You See Red is like a cup of strong coffee. Readers
who
possess an open mind and determination will find this guide to personal
growth
insightful. Though the author details how to calculate scores, those
who wish
to receive a free interpretation can submit their scores to the
author's
website. Encourage your family, friends and coworkers to take the
self-appraisal or sit back and observe their behavioral styles. You
might be
amazed at how quickly you can improve your relationships. I certainly
was. Comments from
Readers
I
loved this
book and the paradigm that people perceive through their senses. I
liked Carol Welsh's supportive tone and heartwarming anecdotes. As a
scientist I liked the quantitative aspect of self-evaluation and the
strive towards balance. Everything fits so well together. It really
heightened my sense of perception. Julia Heinrich, PhD.
